Golf Equipment Every Learner Should Obtain

By Andre Riggs

If you watch golf channels, you will see various beginner golf equipment pieces and sets advertised. However, these packages tend to include equipment that beginning golfers won't benefit from or aren't ready to use. It's better to instead start with a few basic pieces of beginner golf equipment that you can add to as your game improves.

A golf bag should be the first piece of golf equipment that you invest in. Golf bags, while not cheap, are a worthy investment especially if you intend to play the game for a long time. You will use this piece of equipment to carry around everything else. There are a few things you want to keep in mind as you compare brands, styles, and prices. First, make sure the bag is comfortable to carry around. Next, if you don't want to rent a cart or hire a caddy every time you play, you should consider getting a bag with a built-in stand.

Having ball markers is also important.

As part of your beginner golf equipment, another good purchase is golf balls. You will most likely lose plenty of balls at first. It takes time to find the ball that's a good match for your style of golf and your needs as a golfer. As a beginning golfer, buying recycled golf balls is a good idea. You can purchase large packages of mixed brands of balls that have been recovered from water hazards on golf courses. This method gives you an inexpensive way to try out various brands to find the best fit for you.

The final thing to invest in is a good set of beginner's golf clubs. You don't want to invest in the priciest set of clubs you can find when you're first learning the game. Whether you need steel or flexible shafts is not something you'll know when you first start golfing. You also won't know the height you need for the best fit. You won't even be able to determine if you need gloves to help you achieve better control or greater distance or if you need certain clubs to give you a bit of both.

You'll be better off starting small when buying starter golf equipment. Learn more about the game and practice before buying more expensive pieces one at a time to build a set that will help you achieve your goals on the course. Following this advice will help you get the most out of your money when you first begin golfing.
