Free Golf Swing Speed Tips

By Jenne Mae

In golf building speed is extremely critical for much more distance. The modern technology can only do so much and if a player wants to hit the ball farther he has to build up speed in his golf swing.

Apart from speed, the golfer's ability to hit the ball farther also depends on his skill to make a solid contact, his strategy of attack and his swing path. But speed is the most important key and here are some tips that you may include in your own techniques in order to make your game a lot better.

To build your power hold a weighted club for 15 seconds while taking a swing position. This can improve your muscle memory and enhance your power of proper positions. Face a mirror while doing this exercise so you can check you stance. Do a backswing and when the club is up turn your shoulders fully and hinge your wrist.

When you swing the club halfway down, you will recognize that your position is proper as soon as the target line is parallel to the shaft with the toe up. Do this drill again and make sure your elbows are together when you do the backswing and your left wrist is aligned to your left arm when you turn your shoulders.

Tension kills your speed and if you don't relax you won't be able to hit that ball at a desired distance. Learn how to be flexible and practice a light grip that will allow you fluidity in your movements and freedom to swing with a solid contact. Other stuff that limit speed are badly developed methods and wrong sequencing.

When you do a downswing, you'll lose proper sequencing when you swing hard with your upper body. The idea that swinging harder will provide a golfer with more speed is a big misconception. If you follow these golf swing speed tips regularly then you will surely be able to boost your speed in no time.
