The Joy Of Golf: A Uniquely Delightful Experience For Golfers At Any Ability Level

By Alex Kelly

I have always thought there is something special about golf. The calm and occasionally beautiful views on the course brings a great inducement to clear your mind and enjoy the serenity. On most courses, you do not spot a car, hustling and bustling people, or any sort of annoying noise. The only problem you might have is if you don't like the sound of birds chirping.

Golf permits you a chance to bond with new mates and enjoy time with old friends. Even though each player is keeping their own score and looking to do the best they can, they are also rooting for each other, which creates an enjoyable and stress-free atmosphere for all.

While the settings are typically amazing and differ so much from course to course, my favorite part about the game is that you are playing against yourself. While this is not the case for some, it's the way that the game is designed to be played. Golf is a mental game and your mental golf game is just as important as your physical game. There's something marvelous about the way that the mind and body combine during a round to form the ideal stroke.

Another thing I adore about golf is that irrespective of how bad a player might be they always have the chance to hit a superb shot. This is what keeps them coming back and leads directly to them falling head over heels in love with the game. This isn't possible in most sports. Can someone who never played baseball before hit the ball over 400 feet for a home run? Unlikely. Can someone who never played basketball before score 30 points in a game? Again not likely, but with golf, a hole-in-one is possible for even a first-timer.

Making an attempt to improve my game is a challenge I enjoy and consistently work at, as most golfers do. Some days the driver will be working, the irons will wondrous, but the short game will most definitely not be. What I do in these scenarios is think about the good shots on the way home and work on defects during my next round. Regardless of the challenges, the good laughs and time expended with buddies on the course is what I remember most. People don't recollect numbers. They remember moments. That's the reason why golf brings so much joy to those who play it.
