Golf Instructions Can Be Misleading

By Walter Crouch

If you are like most rabid golf enthusiasts, you can't get your hands on enough golf info, because you fantasize that it'll improve your game instantly. You scanned the golf magazines intently and watch the videos repeatedly again, being certain that you comprehensively understand the dispensed information. You confidently assert: "I've got it!", and you rush to the golf course eager to implement the magic.

Unfortunately, you are typically disappointed to find out that something isn't quite right.

Here's the problem. The vast majority of golf articles or golf swing video advice is given from the standpoint of the easiest way to properly perform them like the pros do. And because there are such a lot of oddities that amateur golfers magic up in their golf swings, it might be very unlikely for a golf magazine to devote the correct space to them. Therefore , justly hence they chose to show you the right, professional way.

Clearly, with print spaces and video length limits, they only handle one or two aspects of the golf swing in any given article or video, not the entire process. This is awfully deadly for you as you could be physically incapable of performing the advised task, or more likely, you believe that you understand the concepts, when in fact you do not. You see, if you incorporate the information, (say as an example regarding a complete shoulder turn), you may be wreaking havoc on other parts of your golf swing, and not even know it.

The proper golf swing is a flowing process and the final analysis is that you will need to think about the whole golf swing and how changing or modifying one part has a domino effect on the other parts.

To offer you real solid golf swing guidance, one would need to see your whole golf swing and what you are literally capable of. The videos and articles are sometimes not meant for you.

That is the reason why I strongly advocate that you discuss with your golf pro the changes you are about to include. He presumably knows your golf swing and what you are actually capable of changing in it. Or, just as effectively, you might practice on a golf swing plane coach, where any new faults, or those caused by introducing new elements into your golf swing, will be quickly sensed and magnified.

I am talking about golf swing trainers eg the Medicus or the Explanar, the ones that help you focus on the proper golf swing plane and swing trail. With them, when you try to implement the new information into your swing, if it is defective, the training device will give you the fast feedback as to where you are at fault. The guidance advised by these article and videos may actually be correct. But if they are misinterpreted or carried out incorrectly, they could cause more harm than help.
