Tips On Picking The Right Golf Travel Bag

By Nathan Attaola

A golf travel bag is a convenient piece of equipment for golfers who travel a lot with their sets. If you will not use a traveling case, you risk damaging your clubs when you take them with you on trips. Golf sets are very costly and it would be a good idea to protect it if you can. Aside from protection, these traveling bags can also store accessories like tees, balls and your glove.

Traveling golfing cases are easier to take with you when you are traveling because they can be wheeled about in a terminal. Some traveling cases are equipped with wheels. You can also use these cases in your cars trunk. They will prevent damage to your clubs when your golf gear bounces around in your trunk.

Some cases come with soft material while others are made of hard material. Hard cases are ideal for air travel because they are tougher and can protect your gear when they bounce around with other luggage. Hard cases are tough enough to keep your clubs safe even if they are thrown into the planes baggage cabin.

Soft cases are cheaper than hard bags. Their advantage is the weight which is significantly lighter than hard traveling bags. You can also put more things into soft bags if you pack your gear correctly. The light weight might also let you spend less on excess baggage on a plane.

Before going to a store to buy a traveling bag, measure the length of your driver or the longest gold club in your set. Get a case that is a bit longer than your longest club. Check if the width of the bag is wide enough for all your accessories and all the clubs. Check for compartments for shoes, balls, gloves and tees.

Try out the bag to check if you can carry it comfortably. If you have a difficult time with it, you should consider getting a soft case or traveling bag with wheels. The bag should also have padding inside the cover to provide additional protection for the heads and face of your clubs.
