Locating Female Golf Instructors Calgary

By Henrietta Harmon

When hiring female golf instructors Calgary ladies may need to look farther afield than those trying to hire men. Hunting down a woman may take a bit more work. Once one is found, though, they offer flexibility not found with club-employed teachers.

With the majority of golfers being male, the instruction at most clubs is geared toward their needs. That means men teaching. Few women are employed by municipal or private courses to teach. That means looking in other places to find one.

Recommendations and contacts are usually available through local courses. Because they aren't tied to any one course, these private teachers have connections throughout the industry. The courses keep lists of local private teachers, and can share that information if asked. Professionals employed by the course will often have opinions of the private teachers, and this can be at least as valuable as the contact information itself.

For those who know other lady golfers, personal recommendations are also a good way to find a new teacher. Asking about who taught them to play is also a way to meet new women to play with. Approaching them at equipment stores, in the pro shop, or in the club house may provide good leads. More important, they can advise who to stay away from.

Checking advertising can also provide leads. Ads may be displayed on community boards, at pro and equipment shops, or even be printed in newspapers. Because advertising can be taken out by anyone, extra research into the qualifications of teachers found this way should be done. Check references and training, serious teachers should be able to provide information on both.

Locating a private teacher may seem like a lot of work. Female golf instructors Calgary are worth the extra work, for those who prefer to learn from a woman.
