Considerations When Purchasing Kids Golf Clubs

By Lester Black

It has always been very difficult to get your child golf clubs as they are never perfect as per their body types. But now, you shall not face any difficulty in this regard as you can now get customized golf clubs made just for your child. Normally, golf clubs are made by cutting the shaft of adult golf clubs but manufacturers have realized the need very well and have introduced customized golf clubs. These clubs come in reasonable prices, too.

There are three main measurements included in the customization process. These are swing speed, arm length and height.

First thing that they measure is the height of your child. If he is tall then he is more likely to have a tough swing. The golf shop; therefore, adjusts the "lie" of your child.

Now how is this lie determined? It is determined from the angle that the club head exceeds from its shaft, which is attached like a hinge. Tall players will have a closed hinge.

Measurement of arm length is needed to determine the length of the shaft. It is important that your child doesn't have to crouch or choke up on the club.

This is done by having your child's arms against his side and measuring the distance from the tip of his middle finger to the ground. This determines the length of the shaft.

The customization process also includes measuring the length of your child's arms. Your child will be asked to keep his arms against his sides to do the measurement. This way the distance from the tip of your child's middle finger to the ground is measured which determines the length of the shaft.

The kind of shaft your child should have also depends on the speed of his swing. The swing in turn depends on his strength, age and height. It is best suited for many to use steel or granite shafts.
