Do You Want To Improve Your Golf Game - Ladies We Mean You

By Beth Swanson

Once you've begun to play golf it's only natural to want to improve your game even if only to beat a friend. They often give up out of frustration. With the tips in this article YOU won't need to end this way.

This is because men are stronger and many women feel that they don't stand a chance. Losing confidence is often to your detriment regardless of your skill level.

Concentrate on your alignment to improve your game. It doesn't matter whether you can hit the ball half a mile or only three feet, if you're aiming for the woods instead of the fairway, it's not going to help you at all. Most people won't even look where they are aiming when they hop out of the cart. This is an easy issue to overcome, slow down, stop and look where you are and where you want the ball to be. Focus on the spot where you want the ball to go and the rest of your body will follow you automatically.

Professionally fitted clubs can make a world of difference too. However, if you're just starting out with golf, you shouldn't get too far ahead of yourself because you're probably not even sure yet whether you really like to play or it's simply a passing fancy. Don't make the mistake of purchasing something that's only going to mock you later as it collects dust in the corner. In this case, you can either rely on rented clubs, at least until you figure out if you will be playing in the future or not, or you can buy a set of cheap clubs from friends or a garage sale. Once you've figured out that you actually like the sport your can then invest in a more custom set.

As you can see, playing a good game of golf is a combination of the right equipment, the right techniques and practice. If you get the basics right, there is virtually nothing that can stand in your way of becoming a highly reputable player.
