Want To Make Your Golf Game Better?

By Harry Barber

As addictive as golf can be it can be equally frustrating too. After you master the game all is well but getting to that point can feel slow and painful. Don't give up though; make these changes in the way you play your game instead.

You have to have the right gear to play the game if you want to become a serious golfer. This means you also need to have balls that are suited for the way you play golf and the right clothing for playing. Two-piece balls or three-piece balls are the main types of balls from which you can choose. Three-piece balls are commonly used by advanced golfers who are experts at the game and have more control over the ball while two-piece balls are better choices for beginners. It's a good idea to get a little experience under your belt before you make the move to the three-piece ball. The important thing to keep in mind when it comes to proper golf attire is that it shouldn't interfere with the range of motion required to properly swing. Wearing a tight fitting jacket, for example, will interfere with your ability to make beautiful drives that seem to go on forever.

You must have proper balance in order to make good swings. Just remember, it will be difficult to hit the ball if you're having trouble staying on your feet. You'll be able to hit the ball every single time when you master the process of pivoting on one single point. You'll find that the pivot point in question is located a mere 3 inches below the point at which your collarbone and the base of your neck meet. This is the place or point that is fixed and the rest of your body should pivot around it. If you can't seem to keep your balance throughout the swing there are a few great exercises designed specifically for golfers that will help. You should also focus on exercises that will help you build flexibility and strength as both are important to a good golf swing too.

The saying that practice makes perfect is appropriate for golf as well as many other things in life. The more time you invest in practicing golf the better you can expect your game to be. Spending a little time with a decent golf pro can help you identify problems with your game and weaknesses in your swing. In the end, without the assistance of a golf pro you could spend hours practicing and perfecting bad habits. Don't focus too much on a better score but on finding ways to enjoy the game even more instead. It's important not to put so much pressure on yourself that you end up hating the game because you're not living up to your expectations. The professionals in the game were only able to get where they are because they spent long hours every day practicing the game.

You'll find that a great golf game requires many things - these are a great foundation though. Become the envy of the course in short order by shifting your focus towards enjoying the game and playing well.
