Simple Ideas For Golf Tournament Gifts

By Kenny Johnson

There is nothing quite like the atmosphere of a golf tourney. The players love the intensity of tournament play. And if there is a charity attached to the event, the golfers feel part of something important. But they also love getting their golf tournament gifts.

The goody bag is a big part of the event and one that most golfers will remember after the event is over. They will talk about the bags with other golfers and may even use it as a gauge as to whether the event was handled properly. If you are going to host or manage a golfing event, you will want to take care when deciding what goes into the bags.

The bag itself is as important as what goes inside. If you want to use plastic, be sure to use only high quality, sturdy, thick bags. Your logo can go on the bag and therefore you want a good bag. Even better is a cloth bag. In today's environmentally friendly world, people will appreciate receiving a reusable bag. And every time they reuse it, your name gets seen by more people.

You can also out your name on some of the things inside. Do not go crazy and put your name on everything. Just a few pieces with your logo will do the trick. Hats, ball markers and ball marking pens are perfect for this. Again, though, be sure to go with top quality stuff or these things will just find themselves in the trash.

Other inexpensive ideas for your name are mouse pads, golf tees, small towels, golf balls and can coolers. There are a few cute coolers that hold individual cans and also have a spot for tees, coins or other small items. Check online for discounts on great bag stuffers.

Having other sponsors pitch in is also a good idea. Local businesses are often happy to get the exposure of an event with small cost to them. Restaurants may be willing to donate coupons for free food or good discounts. Other businesses can also offer discounts or certificates for free trials of their products or services.

Be creative when asking about donations. Golfers love free drink and food. Small bottles of water or sports drinks and single serving sized snacks are great additions to the bag that your participants will like to see. The more stuff in the gift bags that people like, the more positive word of mouth advertising you will get when it comes time for your next event.
