Mastering The Basics To Play Golf

By Peter C. Spohn

The majority of golfers find the driver the most difficult club to use for consistent hitting for long drives. Therefore they are forever asking the question as to how to do it.

Most golfers use other clubs quite well but struggle while using driver. I had the same problem but by following good tips and simple systems of swinging the club, I have succeeded in using the driver for long hits.

Positioning the ball is the very important aspect for using driver. Putting the ball very much behind when will not get the result you want after using the driver.

The general rule is to hit the ball straight by positioning your heel in the front. This stance assists you to make proper contact mostly using the square part of the club.

Not swinging very hard is the second lesson you should learn. Because it is distance hitting, many people think that hitting very hard is important. To their disappointment it usually becomes a bad shot.

The majority of pros use only about 80% of the force required for the straight drive. The swing will be very smooth and some massive drives can be got, as has been proved by pros like Ernie Els.

By practice, you should develop your swing for consistent drives which will give you self confidence. It is also essential that when you are a learner, trying to learn the various shots employed in the game of golf, you should have a specific goal to be achieved. Your swing is developed that way. It will be simple and can be repeated even when you are under pressure.

Personally my game improved when I began to follow the tips. If you try them, it should help you too or at least lead you to something else that ends up working for you.
