Golf buggies were a luxury, however now; it has become almost a requirement for any golfer. It is the perfect transport option across the course. Individuals, though, need to be aware that there are some important things to think about prior to purchasing a golf buggy.

Every golf course has certain rules about buggies. Some do not even allow individuals to take out their own buggies, but rather rent them from the course. Others permit them on the course, but might restrict buggies from going into certain areas. Also, some courses require that certain accessories must be included on the buggy, including seat belts and headlights.

Individuals then need to decide whether or not they are going to purchase a new or used buggy. The best way to save money is to buy used, but individuals should have it inspected by a mechanic before buying it to guarantee it is in good condition. For individuals who decide to buy new, they need to decide if they want to have a buggy custom-built to suit their personal needs.

Fuel and electric engines are the two most popular for buggies. Many individuals choose electric, though, because it is easier to maintain than fuel engines. There are some courses, however, that only allow for one or the other, so it is important to check.

Individuals often forget that along with buying a buggy is the cost of maintenance. Maintenance costs are important and should be accurately calculated. Individuals need to be able to pay for monthly repairs, such as spark plugs and air filters, as well as monthly and yearly repairs, such as replacing the battery of an electric buggy or new bulbs for head lights.

For individuals planning to really get into playing golf on a regular basis, a golf buggy is a good investment. It is cheaper than consistently renting a buggy at the course. It also provides individuals with the freedom of mobility on the course, enabling individuals to save their energy for their swing.
