Researching And Buying Used Golf Carts

By Breeze Johnson

Finding and researching used golf carts can be a simple process. Through the years, the use of golf carts has exploded well past the golf course. A lot of people and companies are searching for opportunities to buy them as inexpensively as they can. A lot of businesses now use golf carts as transportation alternatives and shuttle people back and forth through parking lots to their company doors. They are also seen on car lots and dealerships. Farmers use carts to haul loads around their property and even airports use them for transportation or lugging items and suitcases from one place to the other.

The first thing to consider is two-fold. Think about how many people you need to transport, or sitting/hauling space you will need. Golf carts come in many sizes. The smallest being for two people all the way up to a cart having multiple rows of seats that can carry several people at a time. You may also want less seating and more cargo room for carrying items. Also think about whether you want to buy an electric or a gas cart.

Electric carts are greener in that there are no exhaust fumes or emissions. They are also quieter. The downside is that they need charged and sometimes are known to not have as much power or speed as their gasoline counterparts.

Gasoline powered carts have fumes and are noisier. They are not considered to be green to the environment. But, usually a tank of gas lasts longer than an electric charged one. They also have more power and go faster which may be important factors for you if you intend to transport heavy loads or more people.

Something else to think about is how much you are willing to spend. No matter if you buy from a private seller or from a dealership, the cost can vary greatly. Be sure to do some simple research if the price is a concern to you.

Most buyers turn to the internet when shopping for a golf cart. Here you can find all shapes, sizes, colors and prices. Sellers use online bulletin boards, blogs and auction methods to sell their items.

Surprisingly, golf carts hold their value. So, if you ever decide to sell yours because you want to upgrade or whatever the case may be, you should have no problem selling it. They are very popular in the eastern and southern states, typically areas out in the mid-west and west as well that have warm climates. These vehicles are even used year-round in some areas of the nation.
