Ranking Is A Key Factor With Used Golf Balls For Sale

Playing golf has many expenses, and one of the most frequent expenses is buying good equipment. Today there are more and more players finding used golf balls for sale, a less expensive choice. Previously owned items for sale can be found in pro shops, sporting goods stores, and on the internet.

Most companies selling second-hand golf balls will state that they use handpicked items by greens keepers, or cart cleaners. These tend to be of much better quality. A Ball retrieved mechanically will earn a lower grade on the resale on the market. One reason for this is that water retrieved items can be included with this lot.

Grading each ball will usually start with the cleaning of the ball. Next they will be sorted by brand name and type. Finally the ball is checked for smoothness, imperfections, and discoloration. It will be checked for markings, indicating whether it was originally used for practice, for x-out, or for reconditioning.

Grading is done by individual persons and companies who vary the grading tier process. The grade or the tier of each ball can be called any name and is not important to the process. It is the written description of each grade or tier that is important when choosing a the best ball. Each company may have as many grade levels as they choose.

The highest grade level is usually considered mint condition items, which are handpicked by greens keepers and cart cleaners. Mint condition is consistent in color and shine. They may have a small blemish or ink spot, or a sports team logo on them. A mint condition ball play like a ball that has seen very little use. The highest grade usually do not include refurbished or x-out materials.

The mid ranged grade level is considered to be a ball that has been handpicked by greens keepers and cart cleaners. It may have small blemishes but no cuts or creases. This item also will be consistent in color and shine, and may contain a team logo on them. A mid range ball will play like it has been used on only a few holes.

The final ranking ball should be manually collected by the course personnel. The lowest ranking ball will have many surface imperfections and will usually not be uniform in color. You may find a sports team name printed on the ball. In this rank, you may find balls made for practice and x-out balls. Although these used golf balls for sale may not play like new, they are a very good bargain for the less serious player or children. One will worry much less about losing this ball in the many traps of the golf course.
