Putt-Putt in America is dying. Does anyone care that there aren't as many miniature golf courses around anymore? Maybe it is the times but there used to be lots more in every town. Search engine research shows that more people search for 'put put' than putt-putt now on the internet. When did it become put put?
Since Putt-Putt is a trademarked name by an American company maybe that is why more people think it is called 'put put'. Everyone used to know Putt-Putt as a great fun amuzement center with moving windmills, large animals and more things to do in one place than Disney. It seems now all you see are overpriced boring courses that might have a few hills or sharp turns to get the ball in the hole.
Does anyone go on miniature golf dates anymore? Growing up it seemed you always took a girl on a putt-putt(not put put) date within the first couple weeks of dating. It used to be so popular that you would have to wait at each hole and even stay after to have ice-cream or play in the arcade. I guess now all kids want to do is text and hang out at the mall or movie theater.
If 'Putt-Putt' was worth putting a trademark on shouldn't the company get back to it's roots? Every course should be like the one's you see in the old 1980's movies where a complete 'fun' center was built around a good putt-putt course. Maybe it doesn't make good business sense but I'm sure that is what families and most kids would love. Maybe they would quit calling it 'put put' instead of Putt-Putt at least.
Calling it Put put? It shows that the times have changed and no one cares about Putt-Putt anymore. We all want to see dates holding hands between holes and families jumping up and down at the local Putt-Putt course. Maybe they will make it a weekly routine to play a round and get ice-cream or play in the arcade when they are done too. Quit calling it 'Put Put'.
