Sarasota, Florida - Sunshine, Sand And Fun

Old man winter is coming. Now is the time to start planning for your winter getaway. Those of you who live in cold climates may want to escape to the pleasant weather of Sarasota, Florida. Instead of fighting snow, dreary weather and ice you can be walking along the beach, playing golf or dining at an outdoor cafe.

Sarasota, Florida is located on the west of the sunshine state, about an hour south of Tampa and two hours from Orlando. This fabulous beach town is a popular destination for people in the northern United States, Canada and Europe. They visit Sarasota to relax, forget their worries and unwind.

World Famous Beaches

Siesta Key beach is one of the nicest beaches in the world and it is found right off the coast of Sarasota, Florida. People from all over the world visit here because of the beaches. Dr. Beach ranked Siesta Key beach as one of the best in the world. Many other experts think this beach is one of the prettiest.

Other fabulous beaches include Longboat Key beach, Lido Key beach, Anna Maria Island and Nokomis (Casey Key) beach. These are all wonderful places to spend the day. Longboat Key beach is a bit more secluded and peaceful. There are plenty of small beach accessed so you will see people here and there but if you want a little privacy then go to Longboat Key. Lido Key also has a fabulous beach and is very convenient to Sarasota. The beach is a few miles long so it is great for walking. If you head north to Anna Maria in Manatee county and at the southern tip of Tampa Bay you will find another fabulous beach. The sand is soft and the scenery is spectacular. Head south down to Casey Key and you can enjoy Nokomis beach. Take a walk along this beach and see some of the most amazing Sarasota real estate.

Culture

Sarasota is consider by many as the "cultural capital of Florida" because of the various arts and cultural venues. Sarasota Film Festival, Van Wezel Performing Arts Center, Florida Studio Theatre, Asolo Theatre and John and Mable Ringling Museum of Arts are just a few places to get your arts on.

Dining

There are a variety of fine and casual restaurants in Sarasota, Florida. Head to St. Armands Circle and there are plenty of great places to eat like Columbia, Crab and Fin, Tommy Bahamas, Cafe L 'Europe and 15 South. Downtown Sarasota is also a great destination. A few of them include Patricks, Cafe Epicure, El Greco, Caragiulos, Mediterraneo, Two Senoritas, Hyde Park Steakhouse and Cafe Arericano. One thing is for sure. Residents and visitors of Sarasota like to eat good food.

Sarasota Florida Real Estate

There are a variety of great places to live or own a vacation home in Sarasota. One can find an inexpensive home in South Gate all of the way to a magnificent estate on the beach and everything in between. The great thing about Sarasota real estate now is that it has become affordable again. You don't need to give up your first born to enjoy a great home.

Golf

Do you enjoy chasing the golf ball? There are some great tracts in Sarasota. One of the newest courses include The Concession and the Founders Club. The Concession was recently ranked as the best new private course in the country. Some of the other great clubs include Lakewood Ranch, Laurel Oaks, The Oaks, Longboat Key Club, Ritz Carlton and the River Club. Golfers don't have a hard time finding a great course.

Anglers Welcome

Fishing is plentiful in Sarasota, Florida. If you want to do it right hire a local captain and have them take you to the hot spots. There is plenty of fish to catch in the Sarasota bay. You can also head out to the Gulf of Mexico for some great fishing. If you visit during the summer try out some Tarpon fishing.

Again, if you need to escape the snow and cold weather then plan your vacation to sunny Sarasota, Florida. This is a great escape to recharge your batteries and enjoy the superior quality of life.
