3 Straightforward Suggestions To Straighten Your Driver Shots Straight Away

By Harvey Wolfe

For us golfers, there is no more annoying problem than trying to figure out how to stop slicing your driver off the tee. We all need despairingly to hit a rip down the middle, especially when our fellow players are down the middle of the golfing green already!

Let's get our drives back in play and down the middle with 3 easy tips to straighten the cut.

Straighten the cut Tip 1 ) target Your Shoulders to the Right-

This is one of the most vital suggestions to straighten the cut with the driver. The rationale is a cut is caused by a swing trail that's "outside to in", or a swing trail that swings too much to the left. Our swing trail follows the direction that our shoulders are pointing at address to the ball. So if we point our shoulders towards the target, or maybe even to the right of the target, our swing path will follow; now we have got a more inside to out swing path that we'd like.

Straighten the slice Tip 2 ) "Twist Your Grip" ( Grip the Club More Neutral ) -

There is a "neutral" position that all of our hands will be at during the moment of impact, whether we're keen on it or not. It's simply a fact. Therefore , if our grip is twisted to the left too much, then when we come thru at impact our grip will be twisting to the right ( neutral position ) without us knowing it!

Grip the club correctly at address and you do not have to fret about this. Have the "V" between your left thumb and forefinger pointing toward the left-center of your chest.

Have the "V" between your right forefingers and thumb indicating your right shoulder. You'll twist the club less at impact now.

Straighten the cut Tip 3 ) Target Your Feet WAY Right ( Practice Drill ) -

This tip has similarities to tip 1, but this is an actual practice drill you can do to get the feeling of swinging more from the inside.

Set up to the ball and point your feet way right. That suggests your left foot is a bit nearer to the ball and your right foot is a foot or two back from the left foot! Peculiar, huh? Yes, but this is going to force you to swing from the interior. My personal guess is you'll be dismayed how simple it is to draw the ball now!
