Why Lifted Golf Carts Are So Popular

By Roy Hodges

Golf is a relaxing sport whether you play yourself or simply watch the game. You may have noticed some players are using a different type of golf cart then others. These carts stand taller and seem to be larger than regular carts. These are called lifted golf carts, and they are becoming quite popular among golfers and others as well.

As you have probably already noticed these carts usually sit a bit taller than the regular version. Although they are not manufactured specifically for those with limited mobility, they are a great option for those individuals. They are also very easy to enter and exit, so there is little chance of getting tripped up exiting the vehicle.

Certain types of golf courses are better suited to these lifted vehicles than others. Courses which feature rougher terrain are becoming quite popular, and the regular carts are sometimes having a problem traversing the terrain. The lifted version adds more weight to the cart thus giving it more traction.

Groundskeepers routinely scour the course to maintain the grounds. Equipment which cannot be physically carried is often carted about in the more heavy duty lifted carts. They can carry heavier loads and are often quite a bit larger in size than a regular cart. This makes it easier for the groundskeepers to do their job quickly and efficiently.

A lot of golf carts are sold for personal use each year. They are used by the elderly and others to get around in the lawn areas around the home. Gardeners particularly love to use them, and the lifted variety sells well to these individuals.

Lifted golf carts have many uses both on and off the golf course. Not only can golfers enjoy a ride which is built to be more comfortable, they can carry their equipment much more efficiently. Off the course, the golf cart has taken on a new life as a gardener's best friend.
