Severely Lower Your Golf Score With Unconscious Mind Power

By Xavier J. Murphy

If you play golf, then you know it can be one of the most enjoyable, yet at the same time one of the most frustrating games to play. One hole you could be hitting everything perfectly, yet on the next the ball zigging and zagging between the rough and the fairway bunkers. What to do?

The trick to golf, as is the secret to any other activity, is imagination and visualization. Ask any expert, and they'll tell you that a giant part of their success is firm, dependable, visualization. When you visualize something, you are giving straight instructions to your subconscious mind on how you want to perform.

Think about a golf swing, a tee shot if you will. Do you think specifically about what slant you are holding the club face, or how far back to go on the back swing? Do you identify exactly what angle with which the club face catches the ball? Most certainly not.

If you are similar to most people, you have a hazy idea of what course you'd like the ball to go in. Then you swing away, and dream for the best. Unfortunately, this seldom works with any quantity of consistency. Now and then you get lucky, and hit one straight down the middle, other times you don't even bother looking for your ball.

So how do you tap into your influential subconscious mind to develop your game? Simple. Unite some authoritative statements, with some robust visualizations, and repeat them in a calm, almost sleepy state.

For example, if you'd like an enhanced tee-shot, you may say something like this:

I always drive my ball straight down the middle of the fairway. Hitting straight shots off the tee is normal for me. My acquaintances are envious of my steady tee shot.

As you are saying this, imagine your ball going straight down the middle of the fairway. Visualize hearing your friends saying what a great shot it is. Imagine how you feel when you hit such a great shot.

The greatest time to say this to yourself, and employ your visualization is to get in a tranquil, almost snoozing state. Sit in a snug chair, take a few deep breaths and seal your eyes. Imagine seeing the numbers starting with ten, and going down to one. When you get to one, take quite a few yawning breaths, and just say "relax" to yourself softly.

Then begin to gradually and silently repeat your statement to yourself, while seeing the ball go straight down the heart.

If you do this two or three times a day for a week or two, you will observe some remarkable improvements in your tee shot. Once you've got that part of your game down, you can work on your fairway shots, you short game, your putting, and every other aspect of the game.
