Arranging The Right Golf Vacation For You

By Adriana Noton

If you are the type of person who enjoys nothing more than a round of golf in your spare time then the idea of combining a few rounds with great weather on holiday is probably very appealing to you. If this is the case then there are a number of companies out there who specialize in these types of vacations and you can easily find them on the internet so here are a few tips to keep in mind when arranging the trip.

One thing that should perhaps be mentioned first of all is do not just go with your normal travel insurance but instead look for specific golf trip insurance. This is going to give you some extra cover in case of any accidents or injuries whilst out on the course so it is much more specific cover should you need any treatment which can be expensive in different places.

This cover can also include your clubs just in case something happens to them on the way there but do make sure that the cover is more than enough to replace them should they be damaged or lost. You can find all of this kind of information by looking at the terms of the policy.

It is probably best if there are a few of you going as a group so if there is then you need to think about where you are going. This can be very difficult because there are so many good golf courses in different parts of the world so you should try searching online for which parts of which countries have the most courses you can play in close proximity.

When you have the area sorted out you should start to create a list of the courses that you would like to play and work out some kind of schedule. Do remember though to not overdo things as the courses are going to be there for a long time so you do not have to try and play all of them on the one trip. Instead make a list of the ones you would like to play most of all then have a secondary backup list.

When you have your list you need to start finding out about how you can play a round as well as the costs. Do ask your travel company for some advice as they can offer packages so you can play on certain courses but they can also have other links to more courses where you could get a good deal so just ask and find out.

Do remember that you are going to have to get between courses so hiring a large car is going to be a good idea. Remember you are going to have clubs with you so you really do need a lot of space but your travel company may be able to help you in arranging a car as well.

It is therefore a case of really doing a lot of planning for your golf vacation. Take your time in selecting the courses you are going to play and work out the different costs or indeed leave it all up to your travel company who can handle everything on your behalf so you can just enjoy playing these different courses.
